Alan Spacek, maire de Kapuskasing, s’est rendu à North Bay le 19 avril 2017, à l’occasion d’une annonce du gouvernement fédéral. En plus du ministre de l’Innovation, de la Science et du Développement économique (ISDE), l’honorable Navdeep Bains, et des députés fédéraux Anthony Rota (Nipissing-Timiskaming) et Marc Serré (Nickel Belt), il a pu y rencontrer d’autres dirigeants du Nord.

The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) President, Mayor Alan Spacek of Kapuskasing attended a federal government announcement and met with the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, Honourable Navdeep Bains along with MP – Nipissing-Timiskaming Anthony Rota, MP – Nickel Belt Marc Serré and other Northern Leaders in North Bay on April 19, 2017.

Les membres du conseil d’administration de la Fédération des municipalités du Nord de l’Ontario (FMNO) se sont rendus dans la Ville du Grand Sudbury pour y tenir leur réunion ordinaire du 24 mars 2017. Au cours de cette rencontre, les membres du CA ont discuté d’un certain nombre de questions, y compris de changements aux normes d’entretien des logements de location résidentiels, de propositions de modification du code du bâtiment en rapport avec l’inspection des réservoirs septiques, et la mise sur pied d’un programme d’échange/de remplacement de poêles à bois dans le cadre du Plan d’action de l’Ontario contre le changement climatique afin d’aider les propriétaires à réduire les émissions dues aux combustibles fossiles.

Le jeudi 23 mars 2017, les membres du conseil d’administration de la Fédération des municipalités du Nord de l’Ontario ont été accueillis à la maison House of Kin de la Ville du Grand Sudbury. La maison House of Kin célèbre cette année son vingtième anniversaire d’exploitation. Située au 1889 de la rue Regent, la maison House of Kin est un organisme de bienfaisance enregistré, sans but lucratif, qui offre aux personnes et aux familles qui se rendent dans la ville du Grand Sudbury pour des soins médicaux spécialisés de l’hébergement à prix modique.

The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) held their regular meeting of the Board of Directors’ on March 24, 2017 in the City of Greater Sudbury. The Board discussed a number of issues including changes to residential rental maintenance standards, proposed changes to the Building Code with respect to septic tank inspections, and the development of a woodstove exchange/replacement program as part of Ontario’s Climate Change Action Plan to help homeowners to reduce emissions from fossil fuel use.

The Board of Directors’ of the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) was hosted by the House of Kin at their facilities on March 23, 2017 in the City of Greater Sudbury. The House of Kin is celebrating its twentieth anniversary of operating from the 1889 Regent Street location as a not for profit registered charity, providing low cost accommodations to individuals and families travelling to Greater Sudbury for specialized medical care.
