FONOM is concerned with several Health-related issues in Northern Communities
The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) Board met in Callander last week to discuss priorities ahead of the AMO conference. Highlights included a presentation from LAS on a Water and Wastewater Utility Feasibility Study, review of year-end financials, and strong member support for Hope Air’s request for provincial funding to ensure continued access to critical health services. The Board also raised concerns about physician and nurse shortages, the uncertain future of Billy Bishop Airport, and called for stronger enforcement tools and improved training for Municipal Integrity Commissioners.
