Le projet pilote de chasse printanière à l’ours mis de l’avant par le gouvernement de l’Ontario s’avère le bon choix pour le Nord de l’Ontario. La gestion de la population d’ours, pour s’assurer un minimum d’interaction dans les zones résidentielles, est une préoccupation en matière de sécurité, à la fois pour les populations humaines et fauniques.

The Ontario provincial government’s spring bear pilot project is the right choice for Northern Ontario. Managing the bear population to ensure there is minimal interaction with residential areas is a safety concern for both human and wildlife populations.

The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) is supportive of Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle’s efforts to protect and enhance Ontario Northland’s core freight rail and passenger bus assets moving forward.
