Aujourd’hui, des délégués de la Fédération des municipalités du Nord de l’Ontario (FMNO) ont présenté au Comité permanent de la justice de l’Ontario une demande visant à faire modifier le projet de loi 52, celui de la Loi de 2015 sur la protection du droit à la participation aux affaires publiques. Dans le but d’appuyer les industries du Nord de l’Ontario, ces délégués demandent que deux recommandations accompagnent la législation.

FONOM Presents to Standing Committee on Justice Policy

The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) presented to the Ontario Standing Committee on Justice Policy at Queen’s Park today to request Bill 52, Protection of Public Participation Act be amended. FONOM is requesting two recommendations to the legislation to support Northern Ontario industries.

FONOM Board of Directors’ Holds March Meeting in Sudbury

The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) held their regular meeting of the Board of Directors’ on March 24, 2017 in the City of Greater Sudbury. The Board discussed a number of issues including changes to residential rental maintenance standards, proposed changes to the Building Code with respect to septic tank inspections, and the development of a woodstove exchange/replacement program as part of Ontario’s Climate Change Action Plan to help homeowners to reduce emissions from fossil fuel use.

FONOM Board of Directors Tours House of Kin

The Board of Directors’ of the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) was hosted by the House of Kin at their facilities on March 23, 2017 in the City of Greater Sudbury. The House of Kin is celebrating its twentieth anniversary of operating from the 1889 Regent Street location as a not for profit registered charity, providing low cost accommodations to individuals and families travelling to Greater Sudbury for specialized medical care.
