Sandra A. Hollingsworth, Director
A professional with extensive experience building community partnerships across Ontario to improve the economic and health well-being of Ontarians. Sandra Hollingsworth has been a city Councillor for the City of Sault Ste. Marie since 2016. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nipissing University and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Windsor, which has served her well as a community leader. Sandra is a registered nurse where she has cared for many patients in Sault Ste. Marie at the Sault Area Hospital and War Memorial Hospital. Currently she is working with Dr. Sibbald to improve the delivery of health care for northern Ontario indigenous communities. She is also actively involved with a number of boards and committees including; board member for her family business Soo Mill and Lumber Co., Chair of the Sault Ste. Marie Conservation Authority, Governor on the Sault College board, Director on the Sault Ste. Marie Airport Authority board and member of the Sault Ste. Marie Accessibility Committee. She was a recent member of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine Governance committee and board recruitment committee. She prides herself in giving back to the community. In Toronto she was a Director on the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario board where she developed a strong understanding of special needs for young Canadians. She initiated 100 Women Who Care of Sault Ste. Marie which is well regarded and highly successful. Since inception of 100 Women Who Care, over $310,000 has been raised helping more than 22 local charities. For all of her community efforts on March 1, 2020 she received the prestigious Paul Dalseg Community Achievement Award. Prior to moving home her curriculum vitae includes Managing the Research and Education Foundation of the College of Family Physicians of Canada which was the national Canadian charitable arm for family doctors and before this role sales strategy manager for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Toronto and Vancouver.
